Porsche Athemyst R8 V10 gets a huge hike in power thanks to a VF Engineering Supercharger System !
There’s only one way to majorly increase the performance of your R8 V10, and that’s to install the proven VF Engineering VF750 Supercharger System. VF Engineering quote peak figures of 750hp and 570lbfts, that’s an increase of almost 200hp and 198lbfts!!
How:
VF Engineering have developed their VF750 supercharger system around the proven Eaton TVS2300 roots style supercharger which provides a lag-free instant punch of torque, from 5psi at 1500RPM, progressively climbing to 6.5PSI at peak RPM.
What’s in the kit?
The VF 750 supercharger system includes the Eaton TVS2300 Supercharger, Aluminum Intake Manifold, Integrated Bypass System, High-Flow Dual Throttle Body Inlet, Air-Water Charge Cooler, Water Reservoir, Bosch Water Pump, High Capacity Hitachi Fuel Injectors, K&N Filters with Pre-Filters, High-Flow MAF Housings, Brackets, Belts & Hex-Flash Software.
The Install:
After an initial inspection, road test, rolling road testing and logging session the R8 V10 is brought into the workshop where the installation will begin. First things first, the air conditioning system is degassed (yawn)…
With the air conditioning degassed, the technicians start work on removing the factory intake system With the intake system removed we can now see the factory intake trumpets where the VF Engineering Supercharger System will begin to be added toHere you can see the aluminum plate being installed, where the intake manifold and supercharger will be installed onto, before the supercharger adaptor plate is installed the injectors, supercharger pulley and other ancillary components are added…
Then the VF Engineering intake manifold and Eaton Supercharger is lowered carefully and lined up
Once installed, the supercharger really is a thing of beauty within the R8 V10 engine bay…
Next up the charge cooler is installed, this charge cooler will efficiently and reliably cool the compressed air coming out of the supercharger. This means consistently cooler intake temperatures for consistent power.
This customer also opted for an Akrapovic exhaust system to be installed at the same time as the supercharger, un-silencing the awesome V10 soundtrack!
Once the initial run-up, cold start, hot start and road testing is complete it’s time to test the R8 V10 safely (not on the road) under full load. As part of the installation process, we work directly with VF Engineering to calibrate the ECU specifically to the customer’s vehicle, resulting in optimum driveability, power, torque and operating parameters.
Once complete the R8 V10 with VF750 supercharger system delivers 600 horsepower to all 4 wheels. It’s common for companies to quote RWD only figures, obtained due to having to remove the prop shaft as their dyno cannot sync the front and rear rollers. However, at Regal Autosport we use the same Mustang MD-500 AWD Dynometer as VF Engineering, meaning we can calibrate, test and power run the vehicle with all 4 wheels running. Exactly how the car would be driven on the road.
Furthermore to the supercharger conversion, this customer also added some carbon fiber trim, seats and harnesses. A very nice project indeed…
VF Engineering Supercharger Systems for Audi, BMW, Spyker, Lamborghini, Porsche and Volkswagen are imported and distributed by Regal Autosport. Installation can undertaken at our Southampton facility, or at a properly vetted specialist installation centre.
